Dealer’s choice is a term we toss around the office every now and then during brainstorms. Need a new image for a banner ad? Dealer’s choice. Got a recommendation for a new webinar and want to put together some partners? You got it, dealer’s choice. This is an easy concept for us to accept here because we are a well-supported team who trusts each other to know exactly what they’ll need to succeed. We understand that when someone who knows his or her craft, they are the experts on how to succeed in it and that’s the mindset we’ve taken into our Custom Voice Solutions services. Because when companies have needs that can’t be met with an off-the-shelf solution, it’s time to work our options to fit them, not the other way around.
What Exactly Are Custom Voice Solutions?
It’s difficult to define what exactly Custom Voice Solutions are simply because they have, so far, come in such a wide variety of forms. For some companies, they have been in the form of turnkey VoIP Call Centers that come fully-staffed with trained, professional, and scalable call center receptionists. For others, it may be helping to design an elegant caller experience for single lines that reach teams with both 9-5 and 24/7 employees. The point is that no matter what the needs of our customers are, we’re tasked with meeting them to their exact specification. Fortunately, for most businesses large or small, our robust Dash Plans typically have more features and customization than they will ever need. For those who require more, however, we get to roll up our sleeves and really dig into our toolbox to build the bespoke business telephone solutions that serve them to a tee.
How to know if you need a Custom Voice Solution
For many of our customers on Dash or a custom service, they weren’t fully aware of all of the options available to them when they set out to secure a hosted phone system. For others, they had meticulously researched their choices but hadn’t considered a custom service simply because they hadn’t had any examples of them in action to review. For those who are curious about a Custom Voice Solution but don’t know where to begin, we invite them to speak to one of our expert call system designers who are available to walk them through the full battery of options available to them. We’d love to hear from you if you have challenges with your business voice traffic. We’ve got a full desk of tools to offer businesses of all shapes and sizes, now it’s up to you, the dealer, to call the game.

When it comes to masterminding for the Super Bowl, small businesses have the ability to win big. The Super Bowl is a valuable opportunity for businesses to increase sales and boost brand awareness. Here are 5 ways small businesses can profit from the Super Bowl.
1. Gear up
The Super Bowl is one of the most profitable days of the year for the restaurant and bar industry. Due to the high demand for beer, pizza, and wings, businesses can score big profits by stocking up on the best sellers. In order to ensure a happy experience for the crowds of wing eating revelers, it is important to have enough staff to accommodate them. If all goes well, they will return for years to come.
2. Event Marketing
If your business is hosting a Super Bowl event or providing specials, it is important to get the word out. Hand out flyers ahead of the big event and create a digital version to be shared on social media. It’s important to not neglect your business phone, which will likely be ringing non-stop. Create a custom greeting to highlight your specials and hours of operation during the event. Building excitement is an integral part of driving foot traffic to your business.
3. Live Posting
A well-timed tweet is free and can provide more exposure to your business than a prime time television commercial during the Super Bowl. Just ask Oreo, whose social media associate threw a hail mary tweet to win the marketing Super Bowl in 2014. Being able to react and respond in real time with a witty tweet can be a game changer for your business.
4. Online Advertising
It’s 2017, which means businesses don’t have to pay millions of dollars to advertise in front of millions of viewers. When commercial breaks happen, people naturally turn to their phones to check social media. When it comes to receiving viral social media status, users want to see creative and humorous video ads. The opportunities to create brand awareness from your advertising efforts are limitless.
5. Business Connect
Business Connect was created to level the playing field between small businesses and big businesses during the Super Bowl. Local small businesses have the opportunity to win big contracts and become official NFL vendors. It’s too late to sign up this year, but you should sign up next year if a Super Bowl comes to a city near your business.

As a distributed team, we are always looking for new ways to maintain the highest standard of internal communications. When we came up with the concept of #MobileYear Sweepstakes, we set the bar high for the type of sponsor that best represents disruption of the traditional onsite workplace. When we found out how Sneek was revolutionizing the remote working culture, we realized we struck gold. With distributed teams and remote work growing in popularity, companies have been searching for a way to bring office culture to the digital space.
Say hello to Sneek.
From “Santa Goes Remote”
Q1. What is Sneek and how does it work?
In its simplest form, Sneek brings human contact back to the remote teams. The Sneek window is a wall of faces. You can see your whole team on one screen as Sneek takes your photo at a regular interval, 1 minute, 5 minutes or manual mode, all of which you control. You can add a personal status message to your chat head to show off your personality a bit and let your team know how you’re feeling that day. To start a video chat with someone just click on their face and instantly you will be connected for a one on one conversation, or click on multiple faces for a group chat. Sneek features screen sharing, so when explaining something to a teammate you can show them exactly what it is you’re explaining.
Q2. Why did your remote team build Sneek?
Sneek was the brainchild of Analog Republic, a distributed team of developers from San Diego, Portland, Mexico, London, Brighton, Derry, and Orkney. As their team started expanding they wanted to find a way to feel more like a team rather than isolated workers. In a real office you can just walk up to a co-workers desk and start a conversation and none of the tools they tried could even come close in terms of providing that kind of intimacy. They started experimenting with some of the already existing tools for team presence. Eventually, they decided that none of them quite made the cut for creating the virtual office experience they needed. They put their experience in building highly scalable infrastructures to use and everyone on the team pitched in their ideas and expertise. After lots of experimenting and refining, Sneek was born.
Q3. When did the Sneek team realize they were on to something big?
About a year had passed and Analog Republic were still using Sneek daily to communicate and stay connected as a team. They realized that it was exactly what they couldn’t find in the market and they decided that they should share it with the world. So on September 27th of 2016 Sneek went live to the public and was met with features on Product Hunt, ComputerWorld and more. They now have users in 569 cities worldwide, including high profile organizations such as British Gas and Lego.
Q4. What is your favorite Sneek feature?
Slack integration – you can start video chats or send “sneeksnaps” directly from Slack. You can type “/sneeksnap @username” to send an instant photo to your teammates. We also attach a hashtag to sneeksnaps and resurface those hilarious moments over and over again. Whether a teammate is yawning awkwardly, sneezing right as their picture is taken, or sticking headphones up their nose, sharing these micro-moments brings human connection to distributed teams. After all, a team that has fun together is a team that grows together.
It’s not too late to sign up for the #MobileYear Sweepstakes. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to win a free year of Sneek for up to 5 team members + a free year of Dash + lifetime Remotive Slack membership! Sign up before January 31st by noon PST for a chance to win!

Remote working is less of a niche and more of a standard in 2017. Having the freedom to work remotely does not mean kicking back on the beach holding a piña colada 24/7, but if that’s your thing, you can do just that when you win the Mobile Year Sweepstakes. Remote working means freedom, but it also means a whole other set of challenges outside the scope of a typical 9 to 5 desk job.
No one knows more about remote working challenges then Remotive; a startup that is on a mission to help remote workers be productive. Today we have a special guest in our virtual VirtualPBX office. Meet Adrien Belhomme, a remote working expert at Remotive.
Q1. What is Remotive? Why was it founded?
After spending years helping companies such as Accenture, Google and Buffer think about remote work, Rodolphe learned how to become a great remote worker and decided to start Remotive in 2014, to help people do the same and find a remote job.
Remotive helps 20,000+ remote workers from all over the world to be productive by emailing our best tips, twice a month. Remotive also runs a community where hundreds of actively engaged remote workers support each other. Also, we list over 200 startups who welcome and celebrate remote work, most of which are actively hiring as well.
Q2. What are some main challenges that remote workers face?
Working remotely means working outside of the office. It gives you so many freedoms and perks! But without clear boundaries between working and nonworking hours, it can become difficult to know when to disconnect and switch completely between the two. This is one of the most popular topics in our community, and knowing how and when to disconnect is one of the main challenges that remote workers face.
Q3. What are your favorite productivity hacks?
Establishing a routine is really important. As a remote worker working on multiple projects, I tend to switch tasks too many times during the day. And I can lose my focus. Having a routine and knowing what I’m going to work on in advance is the best hack I know to maximize productivity. Additionally, having a strong routine and schedule is a good way to better delineate between working and nonworking hours.
Q4. What is the Remotive Slack channel like? Why is it a great resource for remote workers?
We see the Remotive Slack team as the world’s largest virtual co-working space. It’s a place where we support each other as a community, and share remote jobs along with the productivity tips to succeed at them! Whether you’re just getting started, or you’re a tenured remote worker, you’ll meet like-minded professionals and surely make new friends. We have members from all around the world, working in design, engineering, marketing, and non-tech jobs like virtual assistants.
Ready to put these productivity tips to the test? Enter for a chance to win over $1,000 in remote working tools.

Surely you recall the children’s story of Goldilocks, the young girl who had as particular taste as she did the willingness to violate private property laws to satisfy them. All kidding of the nursery rhyme’s condoning of breaking and entering aside, Goldilocks is a fine example of what we as consumers should come to expect these days. We live in a time where more of our physical world can be customized to suit our exact specification. Advances in manufacturing, accelerated deliveries, and a greater sense of individualism than ever before have all conspired to create a very customized world. As true as this is for consumers, it is unsurprisingly becoming so for businesses because (gasp!), businesses are run by people! It’s with that in mind that we want to roll out the all-new Custom Voice Solutions service from VirtualPBX.
Custom Voice Solutions
When Goldilocks kept on trying new porridge until she found the right temperature, she was doing more than depriving a forest-dwelling family of their humble dinner. Not settling for the first option, easiest one, or simply something that just doesn’t quite fit is the only way to ensure you get what you need. And until recently, businesses looking to solve their every telecommunications need had to settle on an awful lot of items. Custom Voice Solutions aren’t a simple product or service, instead, they include every single technology, technique, and strategy we’ve ever employed to get your communications to where they need to be. In addition to the already impressive array of products and services that we have to offer, our Custom Voice Solutions engineers have the freedom to work with you to ensure that no option is left unconsidered.
What Are you Getting with Custom Voice?
The blond bandit was on to something- try before you buy. But when something is being made specifically for your exact needs, there isn’t an existing product for you to give a test drive with, of course. That’s why we’ve jotted down some examples of various challenges our Custom Voice Solutions clients have had.
- Designing complex decision trees for separate departments that work closely together like customer service, finance, and sales.
- Designing an inbound call routing system for a company with one telephone number but different hours of operation (24-hour support but a 9-5 accounting team, for example) for each department to direct traffic accordingly.
- Defining the best call routing for individual contributors who rotate between field work, in the office, or at alternate locations.
Solutions Made With You, Not For You
I assume that Goldilocks would have been able to have a snack and a nap if she had just opened up to the bears with some dialogue, but we’ll never know. The point here is that we’re not in the business of prescribing the right way for anyone to run their company. Quite the contrary, in fact. Over the course of the past 20 years, we’ve been able to learn a great deal about how certain industries benefit from hosted communications differently from others. We bring that structural expertise and into conversations on your institutional knowledge to build a bespoke telecommunications network that fits your company perfectly and will grow with it seamlessly.
With access to the total spectrum of VoIP features and with the full support and backing of our expert engineers, making a call to solve your every telecommunications need has never been easer. Beginning the process is easy, too, simply get in touch with us today, and we’ll start working for you. You won’t even have to eat any porridge, we promise.
