VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone Wins the TMC 2017 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award
Posted on August 3, 2017 by Dan Quick
The 2017 Communications Solutions Product of the Year was awarded for the seamless integration of CRM and VoIP software into the already popular VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone.
San Jose, California, August 3, 2017 — VirtualPBX announced that is was the recipient of the prestigious Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award presented by telecommunications industry monitor, TMC. The 2017 Product of the Year was awarded to the VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone for a combination of its excellence in facilitating a streamlined use of the wildly popular VirtualPBX Dash business VoIP platform as well as for its recent integration of the ubiquitous CRM software from Salesforce. This combination marks a benchmark for hosted telephony in that it brings together two of the most rapidly growing software platforms available for modern businesses.
“Pairing the VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone with Salesforce CRM was more than just overlapping the two systems,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO, “We had to ensure that each platform functioned in concert with one another as well as that the integration contributed to the value of both business tools independently, as well.”
VirtualPBX leveraged a variety of engineering techniques to accomplish this lofty goal, and according to the independent judges at TMC and Internet Telephony, they passed the test with flying colors. Not only did they successfully maintain the functionality of each standalone technology, Dash VoIP and Salesforce CRM, but they also achieved an improvement in each platform respectively in the process. The CRM benefits from having the entire suite of data visualizations including time to respond to leads, weekly call activity, lead responses/conversion, and call duration. Additionally, the VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone benefits from this integration by being able to click-to-call contacts directly out of a salesperson’s CRM window.
“The VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone is truly an innovative product and this integration makes it one of the best communications solutions brought to market this year,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC’s Chief Executive, ”Per usual, I’ll be looking forward to continued excellence from VirtualPBX in 2018 and beyond.”
VirtualPBX Desktop Softphones are available for use in conjunction of the award-winning Dash VoIP service and the Salesforce CRM Integration is available as a premium to any extension on the network.

VirtualPBX Releases Updates to Popular Extension Manager App on All Office Plans
Posted on July 26, 2017 by Dan Quick
User interface enhancements, security patches, and boosted overall performance highlight new update to VirtualPBX Extension Manager App
San Jose, California, July 26, 2017 — VirtualPBX released a massive update to the company’s popular Extension Manager App for iPhone and iPad users. This latest update to the Extension Manager App dovetails perfectly amid VirtualPBX’s other offerings thanks to its focus on simple, elegant design and operation. The Extension Manager App’s totally new interface is the latest edition in the company’s growing field of user-friendly and enterprise grade telecommunications tools. Beyond the glossier exterior and simplified interface, though, the company leveraged much of the feedback they received through their customer-facing channels to guide the improvements.
“The Extension Manager App is vital to the companies that use it, so it was exactly their impression of it that we wanted to learn from to guide this update,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO.
VirtualPBX utilizes a public-facing Product Roadmap to accomplish several key goals that are vital to their mission for achieving product excellence. Customers used the VirtualPBX Product Roadmap to leave feature suggestions as well as to sign-up for early access to beta versions of the app prior to its release to the public. Through a series of feedback sessions and by monitoring the new use patterns the beta yielded, VirtualPBX engineers were able to add to their list of functionality enhancements.
“Improvement through incremental gains is something we expect from ourselves no matter what,” Baker continued, “But by tapping into the expertise and insight of our core users, we were able to boost this update into more substantial advances.”
The Extension Manager App retains its core functions of being able to monitor and manage a business’ entire hosted telephone network, but the runway to mastery of the app is now effectively reduced to nothing. Being able to remotely manage TrueACQ Queues and toggle the popular Follow-Me Calling call forwarding from the app is easier now than ever before. For example, when a remote sales team member is ready to start work for the day, they simply open the app and toggle their Sales Queue presence to active. By improving the design, navigation, security, and responsiveness of the app, VirtualPBX empowers phone system administrators and users to freely and quickly make the changes they need to keep their phone networks and teams operating at a high level. Furthermore, the UI/UX updates now make the Extension Manager App similarly streamlined to the intuitive interfaces of the VirtualPBX VoIP platforms.

San Jose, California, July 13, 2017 — VirtualPBX today announced that their award-winning Customer Support Team will now be available around the clock, 24/7. Initially, VirtualPBX garnered much praise from customers and competitors alike by committing so much into their customer support and by offering it free of charge to existing clients. Now, VirtualPBX plans to disrupt the industry again with the announcement of total coverage, around the clock, 24/7 for Dash customers.
“We’ve always been focused on customer intimacy and product excellence,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “And we view investments in our Support Team that differentiates us as achieving both of those goals.”

“Our customers are all over the world and that means that every minute of the day is an opportunity to keep business moving for one of them,” Baker added. “Plus, challenges never occur when they are convenient so we wouldn’t be comfortable offering anything less than total 24/7 coverage to address them as they arise.”

VirtualPBX Wins Gold, Bronze medals at the 12th Annual Network Products Guide IT World Awards
Posted on June 15, 2017 by Dan Quick
To accentuate a strong first year in service, Dash won two medals for Best New Product or Service and Best Communications Solution!
San Jose, California, June 15, 2017 — VirtualPBX today announced that their premium hosted business phone service, Dash, had been awarded two medals in the 2017 Network Products Guide IT World Awards. The IT World Awards mark the latest and undeniably most substantial win to date for Dash which took the internet telephony world by storm early last year. While having garnered the praise of critics, colleagues, and customers already with it’s sleek and intuitive interface, Dash has yet to be included in such a deep field of global leaders before. Specifically, Dash was awarded the Bronze Medal for Best New Product or Service and took home the Gold for best Communications Solution.
“Having a chance to be judged and scrutinized alongside the world’s biggest telecom companies and still come out on top is enormously gratifying,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “It’s incredible to be going toe-to-toe with companies with sometimes hundreds or thousands more employees and countless more and know that we’re still making one of the best products available.”
With categories ranging from all aspects of modern, unified communications and fields for start-ups to midcap and blue chip industry leaders, the IT World Awards are one of the largest stages for all of internet telephony, cybersecurity, and digital communications. In this, their 12th year, they have had entrants from six continents and literally every possible specific technological focus. However, in spite of the broad field of participants, only those behind the handful of winning products and services that display both a technological innovation and a clear market advantage that provide a unique commercial benefit will get to call themselves winners.
“We’re honored to be doing what we love for our customers,” Baker added, “While these awards tell you when you’re doing something right, it’s really when we get to help our customers improve and build their own businesses that we feel the proudest.”
The awards are coupled by a gala affair that culminates in one of Silicon Valley’s biggest evenings for IT companies. This year’s awards ceremonies will be held at the iconic Mark Hopkins Intercontinental atop San Francisco’s historic Nob Hill on June 26, 2017.

VirtualPBX Launches New Softphone & Salesforce CRM Integration for Sales Teams and Extensions
Posted on April 27, 2017 by Dan Quick
To complement the release of new Dash Plan options, VirtualPBX is also introducing the first ever VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone Salesforce CRM Integration
San Jose, California, April 27, 2017 — VirtualPBX today announced the launch of a total integration of the award-winning VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone with the renowned CRM software from Salesforce. To begin offering the valuable combination of the VirtualPBX Softphone with Salesforce’s customer relationship management software to as many customers as possible, the company has developed new Dash Plans and extension-specific premiums to include this service.

“It’s getting nearly impossible to find an organization that doesn’t rely on at least some sort of customer relationship management software,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “Therefore, ensuring that another indispensable business tool, the VirtualPBX Softphone, supported a seamless Salesforce CRM Integration was simply the next logical step in positioning any sales team for success.”
The award-winning VirtualPBX Softphone was, like all of VirtualPBX’s technology, built on the principles of simplicity, reliability, and performance. Similarly, the VirtualPBX Softphone and Salesforce CRM Integration is also the most effective and easy to implement marriage of systems available in hosted telephony. Expected to primarily accompany Dash VoIP service, the company’s premier option for hosted telephone service, this integration of systems was intended to dovetail effortlessly into the greater Dash experience.
“Dash was launched with the simple concept that hosted telecommunications shouldn’t require an engineering degree to operate them,” Baker added. “We continued that simplicity into the integration and beyond with easy to generate reports, tracking, monitor weekly lead activity. ”

VirtualPBX Introduces New Dash Plans and Competitive Pricing for Dash VoIP Service
Posted on April 25, 2017 by Dan Quick
The new pricing tiers and plans options for Dash include ultra-competitive Basic Plan and Enhanced Feature Sets for Enterprises
* Check out our Plan Comparison page for a look at our new business phone plans and free trials.
San Jose, California, April 25, 2017 — VirtualPBX is unveiling several new Dash Plans to complement the success of their flagship VoIP platform for business. A team that focuses heavily on an open feedback loop with their customer base, VirtualPBX based the decision to increase their VoIP options in developing the new Basic, Pro, and Unlimited Dash Plans.
“We’re constantly researching the needs of our customers to perfect the features and functions of our VoIP products and network services.” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “Much of the user feedback we generated while developing various features also proved to be illuminating on how we present our Dash Plans, as well.”
Dash was launched with the simple concept that enterprise-grade hosted telecommunications shouldn’t have to rely on enterprise-grade engineering know-how to operate them. Furthering that concept of simplicity was the driving factor of introducing these new Dash Plan options, too. The Dash Pro and Dash Unlimited plans come with more value than any other Dash Plans before with new pools of minutes available and the most formidable array of features ever compiled in a Dash Plan. Additionally, the introduction of the Dash Basic plan represents a whole new level of service that addresses an often overlooked or underserved market.
“We invested plenty of resources in making Dash Pro and Dash Unlimited the unparalleled leaders for exceedingly capable and value-packed hosted phone service,” Baker added. “We were similarly committed to ensuring that Dash Basic users couldn’t find more features or better service for their budgets anywhere else.”
The new Dash Plans are available now and can be tailored to fit the budgets of any company with several pricing options, as well. By toggling between annual plans, monthly plans, and annual plans with monthly payment on any of the three new Dash Plans, customers can isolate precisely the right level of service and price that works for them.

VirtualPBX launches “Unbelievable” New Product line of VoIP Hardware as April Fool’s Day Gag
Posted on April 5, 2017 by Dan Quick
Building the success of past April Fool’s Day Pranks, the VoIP provider delivers 5 hilarious joke products for telecommunications.
San Jose, California, April 5, 2017 — VirtualPBX has made a habit of delivering VoIP products and networking services that are met with wild reviews. Recently, however, the hosted telecommunications firm introduced a new line of proprietary VoIP hardware products that were more outrageous than usual. Mostly, it seems, due to the fact that they were all entirely made up. As an elaborate April Fool’s Day prank the company teased, launched, and now has come clean on the details behind a truly unbelievable line of new products.
“Because we’ve aligned our product, engineering, and marketing calendars so well, we’ve identified times of the year when we have the freedom to get a little creative,” said Rachel Anderson, VirtualPBX’s VP of Design and Marketing.
The creativity of the team involved shines bright with products that, while completely fictitious, mirror the functionality of some of the company’s most popular features. Additionally, some of the decision to build these joke products came from the collaboration VirtualPBX has with their customers via their interactive Product Road Map.
Being able to marry the features of desktop VoIP phones to VoIP services has been a challenge for some companies in the past, which is what made the “Tin Cup Phone 5000” (aka, the TCP-5k) such a silly way to highlight the need for a functioning intra-office intercom system. Also, the “Aero One” call transfer system was a simple paper airplane, but it riffed on the importance of an advanced call transfer system like the one that Dash VoIP users rely on. Other features like Follow Me Calling, ACD Queues, and Teleconferencing were also lampooned as part of the Unbelievable Product Launch.
“We’re fortunate to be an organization that is in lockstep to the point that we can execute product launches, real or whimsical, in an efficient and repeatable fashion,” Anderson added. “These products are a reflection of the cohesion between our teams, the input we constantly receive from our customers, and a healthy dose of our own personality.”
Known for launching some of the most heralded products in telecom over the past two years, VirtualPBX employed similar go-to-market tactics to introduce these inane devices. The company’s April Fool’s Day prank leveraged many of the same processes that are typically reserved for introductions like Dash, but the likelihood they will garner the same type of industry praise remains to be seen.

VirtualPBX Set to Unveil Entire Line of New VoIP Hardware Products
Posted on March 16, 2017 by Dan Quick
VirtualPBX is scheduling a release date for the industry’s newest array of cutting-edge business VoIP hardware options.
San Jose, California, March 16, 2017 — VirtualPBX is announcing a massive product release for early in the month of April. Expected to be a comprehensive line of brand new VoIP products, this will be the hosted telecom leader’s first foray into the space of VoIP hardware options.
“Because we’ve been in the position of being an impartial provider of hardware for almost 20 years alongside our proprietary VoIP service, we’ve been able to amass a great deal of data on what products people use, how they use them, and most importantly, what they want to be improved upon,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “This intelligence on business communications behavior, when combined with our wide range of relationships within the VoIP hardware industry, makes for a very valuable and potent combination.”
Initial news on the scope of the products included in this game-changing announcement from VirtualPBX has been kept tightly under wraps, but considering the wide array of VoIP Products and Communications Network Services that they provide, the possibilities are literally quite endless. What is clear, however, is that the nature of their work has led them in the past to be key reviewers of a battery of hardware options from routers to desk phones, analog telephone adapters, and conferencing phones for hosted telephone services. Combined with the wider range of network expertise that drives much of the VirtualPBX business model, and the possibilities for more powerful servers and network power plants seems well within the scope of possibilities, as well.
“We’re sticking true to our embargo dates with our partners, so won’t reveal too much just yet,” continued Baker, “Suffice it to say, however, we’re confident that knowing our customers as well as we do, we’re certain they won’t be disappointed in the slightest.”
Advanced notice of the total line of new VoIP products from VirtualPBX can be requested through their early release sign-up portal. This promises to be the best way to be included on the earliest release information as it becomes available. The actual date of the product drop hasn’t been revealed, although the company assures that it will be early in April. Until then, however, the telecom industry will be holding its collective breath and bracing for what is certain to be the next milestone in the company’s already rich history.

VirtualPBX Wins Pair of Industry Awards for Product of the year and Outstanding Innovation
Posted on February 3, 2017 by Dan Quick

Dash VoIP for business is recognized for revolutionary user interface and positively disruptive impact on the hosted telecommunications industry
San Jose, California, February 3, 2017 — VirtualPBX today announced the receipt of two of the most coveted and prestigious awards for its lean and powerful business VoIP platform, Dash. Dash has just been awarded the 2017 Internet Telephony Product of the Year and the 2016 Unified Communications Excellence Award in an unprecedented sweep of the end of the calendar year’s biggest recognitions.
“We launched Dash about one year ago and it has been a successful first twelve months for our customers who have transitioned onto it,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “These awards are validation to those customers that their VoIP platform is everything they need it to be, and you can’t put a premium on that type of reassurance.”
Dash was launched with the simple concept that enterprise-grade hosted telecommunications shouldn’t have to rely on enterprise-grade engineering know-how to operate them. By taking the robust foundation of features that VirtualPBX offers through its core technology and presenting it in a consumer application style based on intuitive design and ease of use, Dash has rapidly become a contender in the crowded space of hosted telecom.
“By listening to feedback from customers we saw a clear need for a new approach to how VoIP platforms are designed,” added Baker, “Dash was made to answer the calls from them for a service that accomplished what they needed from a cost-saving VoIP platform but that was easy enough for anyone on their team to use”
Universal access and sleek design have been what popularized Dash over the past year, but its capabilities have been what legitimized it among its peers. Winning these two peer-reviewed awards is validation that a user-friendly platform doesn’t need to come at the expense of a dilution of functionality. Instead, the hosted telecommunications industry has effectively been put on notice following these award wins for Dash that form will be as highly scrutinized as function for VoIP providers moving forward.

VirtualPBX Introduces VPN for VoIP Service Powered by Peplink Hardware Technology
Posted on December 6, 2016 by Dan Quick
Marking an industry first, new VPN for VoIP Service offers brand agnostic hosted telephone optimization services to businesses across the United States
San Jose, California, December 06, 2016 — VirtualPBX today announced the launch of new VPN for VoIP Service, the telecommunications industry’s first brand agnostic total VoIP remediation service. By developing a process that creates a protected channel through which voice communications can pass, VirtualPBX VPN for VoIP Service bypasses pesky ISP issues that cause problems like static, one-way audio, and other voice quality issues.

“VPN for VoIP Service marks a new era for hosted telecom where businesses can finally get truly independent and objective VoIP remediation services regardless of who their service provider is,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO.
VirtualPBX relies on several key assets to make VPN for VoIP Service a possibility for hosted PBX customers. First, the new VPN for VoIP Service effectively creates an exclusive and reinforced VPN bypass for voice traffic on a business’ internet connection. This means that your VoIP traffic is completely separated from any other activity on your network like web browsing or email traffic. This traffic is protected and hosted by VirtualPBX and made possible by the Peplink Balance 20 multi-WAN router. VirtualPBX hardware experts identified this router through their rigorous and exhaustive hardware review process. By leveraging the powerful abilities of Peplink hardware and the dedicated management of VirtualPBX engineers, companies can maintain their typical internet activities without compromising on voice quality and vice versa.
“Expecting companies to sacrifice either voice quality or throttle their internet behavior is unrealistic,” added Baker, “Which is why VPN for VoIP Service is such a great solution because now they don’t have to, no matter where they get their VoIP service from!”
VPN for VoIP Service is available immediately nationwide to businesses with up to 50 employees per location. For larger customers, VirtualPBX offers an enterprise equivalent with additional volume and concierge service options, most notably their nationwide network of expert telecom technicians available for any on-site network assistance. With access to dozens of teams of engineers strategically located across the lower 48 United States, VPN for VoIP Service experts can be on location in most situations within a week. This rapid response is critical to diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining VoIP quality for businesses and, for many other service providers it has been a logistical hurdle too high to clear.

VirtualPBX Launches Inbound Call Recording on Dash Business Phone Systems
Posted on November 22, 2016 by Dan Quick
The Inbound Call Recording beta program will be open until 2017 for businesses to try and test the feature on trial basis
San Jose, California, November 22, 2016 — VirtualPBX is delivering more features to the award-winning Dash business telephone system. By unveiling an inbound call recording option, users of the popular business VoIP platform will be able to record any inbound call. The company is introducing the feature into a beta program this week that will allow any Dash customer to use the feature and contribute to the final product due in early Q1.
“VoIP users come from all industries, many of which have a strong need to record and archive telephone conversations,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX’s COO. “Now, with Dash, they can do just that,” he added.
Introducing a call recording feature onto a hosted telephone network is nothing new for VirtualPBX, though this is the first time it has been available on the Dash family of products. From that experience, VirtualPBX was able to ascertain the exact types of functions, saving and storage options, and interface that VoIP customers would find most helpful in this latest iteration.
“Having built call recording and one-click storage option integrations into VoIP before made developing Inbound Call Recording for Dash that much easier,” added Baker.
Additionally, much to the satisfaction of early users during the development process, none of the same high-gloss and seamless functionality that has fueled Dash’s success is lost in this latest feature. Inbound Call Recording is included as an option on each user’s list of feature options and can be added by anyone on an account with administrator privileges. The feature will continue to be available at no cost through the beta period, with updated pricing information finalized for the beginning of the New Year.
