VirtualPBX April Fools’ Day Zombie Prank Leaves Telecom Spinning

VirtualPBX boosts engagement and brand recognition through playful Zombie campaign
San Jose, California, April 2, 2016 — VirtualPBX has brought a creative and engaging campaign to new audiences through the use of clever timing and planning. Often recognized and awarded as an innovator in the space of telephony products and services, the VirtualPBX marketing team delivered a similarly memorable product.
“Most of the marketing team has worked outside of the telecom industry, so we all have a lot of entertaining examples of successful April Fools’ Day campaigns that often come up in conversation,” said Rachel Anderson, VirtualPBX Director of Marketing. “Just like with our Engineering and Support Teams, it’s through this type of collaborative effort that many of our initiatives are formed, too.”
The campaign, which consisted of five dystopian images and phrasing that was designed to entice audiences outside of the realm of most conventional telephony marketing platforms, has been welcomed as an inventive and intriguing introduction to hosted telecom. By delivering content to niche subsets of social media that was authentic and relevant, VirtualPBX has opened the door to vast, new audiences to engage with.
“Just as it would be disingenuous for someone to sit down at your family dinner table and hop right into the conversation, you can’t just waltz into a specific group and start talking to them like you belong,” added Anderson. “Fortunately, we had a combination of relevant subject knowledge and the creativity to tie it back into the topic of hosted telecom, specifically surrounding our PBX Parachute and Softphone App products.”
Though this is the first such deviation from the norm for the hosted telecom industry, VirtualPBX is known for embracing out-of-the-box product and service development. With the ever-growing list of game-changing products in their quiver, it is likely that more equivalently potent content is on its way from the company as a whole.

VirtualPBX Completes Interoperability Testing for Next-Generation VoIP Phones
Posted on March 10, 2016 by Dan Quick
VirtualPBX to webcast product partnership with hardware giant, Yealink
San Jose, CA, March 10, 2016 — VirtualPBX, a national leader in providing Unified Communications (UC) to businesses over the cloud, has successfully completed new batteries of interoperability testing (IOT) with equipment manufacturer, Yealink. These tests preceded the unveiling of the new Yealink T4 series of desktop phones and definitely proved the seamless compatibility between them and the all-new VirtualPBX Dash UC platform.
VirtualPBX customers have always enjoyed a wide array of feature-rich equipment to choose from, and the T4 series boosts their options even further. To showcase the complimentary functions of the new T4 phones on the Dash platform, the companies will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, April, 6, 2016 for product highlights, demos, and questions.
“Functionality is key when choosing a VoIP phone for your business, customers tend to look at features first, though,” said Kevin Peyton, Vice President of Sales at VirtualPBX. “With the new Yealink T4 series added to our line-up, however, customers get our leading service and reliability with really any bell or whistle they want including immediate compatibility with the button commands on the phone itself. Between our platform and these phones, what else could you need?”
As a result of this most recent IOT, Yealink’s ultra-elegant T4 series seamlessly and rapidly dovetails with VirtualPBX’s Dash VoIP platform. The partnership guarantees full operation of all the functions and support provided by both companies, as well as supports any firmware and software updates as they arrive.
“Yealink always endeavors for interoperability with the broadest range of platforms and the partnership with VirtualPBX is a terrific example,” said Stone Lu, Vice President of Yealink. “Together, we offer a competitive solution for customers in the United States, especially SMBs, that are seeking optimized performance and budgets.”
Yealink’s T4 series phones feature Optima HD voice, elegant design, rich features, and much like the Dash platform they operate on, intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. Advanced VoIP phone functions include support for Gigabit networks, rich programmable DSS keys for customization and support for Bluetooth headsets.

VirtualPBX Rapid Call Center Deployment Fuels DNC
Posted on February 20, 2016 by Rachel Anderson
Nevada Democratic Primaries Fueled by Hosted Telecom
San Jose, CA, February 20, 2016 —VirtualPBX has launched a call center for the Nevada DNC that will accommodate over 100 agents with the ability to handle millions of minutes of call time. This call center will be the headquarters for all Nevada DNC voter outreach and volunteer coordination.
“We’re proud to once again be the choice for the Nevada DNC,” said Kevin Peyton, VirtualPBX Vice President of Sales. “We’ve been tapped to provide nearly overnight activations for political campaigns in states across the country, Nevada and many other have been relying on us since 2012.”
With 16 local telephone numbers, one toll-free number, and initial seats for over 120 operator agents, the Nevada DNC call center is already a powerful installation. Because the VirtualPBX Call Center Systems are all hosted in the cloud, however, the turn around from requesting the project to opening the doors for DNC agents was unparalleled by traditional, on-site phone systems.
One of the most crucial advantages of a hosted system over a traditional, on-site telephone system was the speed that it could be up and running. Minimizing the time between the point when the request was made to the doors opening to the DNC operator agents was just the beginning of the advantages of hosting the call center system in the cloud, however.
“Once the main system is in place, new lines can be added or removed all with a few clicks of the mouse from any internet-connected remote location,” added Peyton. “In a race for the primaries, this type of flexibility and the ability to react to the needs of the campaign can potentially be the deciding factor between success and failure.”
This type of speed and flexibility is available in all of VirtualPBX’s hosted communications systems and is available in similar, enterprise-grade national networks all the way down to lean, agile systems for small teams or entrepreneurs.

VirtualPBX Wins 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award

PBX Parachute Recognized for Industry Innovation
San Jose, CA, February 3, 2016 —VirtualPBX announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named PBX Parachute as the recipient of the 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award.
“It gives me great pleasure to recognize VirtualPBX with a 2016 Product of the Year Award for its commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “In the opinion of our distinguished judges, PBX Parachute has proven to be among the best communications and technology solutions available on the market. I look forward to continued innovation from VirtualPBX.”
PBX Parachute is a hosted emergency failover system that protects businesses when they need it most. By mirroring the function and hierarchy of an existing, on-site telephone system, PBX Parachute can replicate a business’ total communications system within seconds of a failure of the primary system.
“Companies that rely on a physical phone system are exposed to the risks of disruption or inaccessibility of those networks,” said Adam Denter, Director of Professional Services at VirtualPBX. “PBX Parachute allows for these companies to choose which essential employees stay connected, even when they experience a failure of their primary system or if they can no longer access their offices.”
Most commonly used as part of a comprehensive business continuity plan, PBX Parachute helps companies stay connected to their clients, employees, and most importantly, their productivity all over the nation. Deployed during extreme weather conditions, emergency scenarios, or even through infrastructure renovations, PBX Parachute is the perfect cloud-based compliment to any physical telephone network.
The winners of the 2016 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year will be featured in the 2016 March issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY Mgazine.

VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone Updated
Posted on November 5, 2015 by Rachel Anderson
Core Use Product for Hosted Telecom Leader Gets Overhaul
San Jose, CA, November 4, 2015 – VirtualPBX announced today that it has completed an update of its Desktop Softphone. Now fully compatible with the latest versions of iOS Yosemite and Mavericks along with all Windows platforms through Windows 10, the key product in the VirtualPBX line-up keeps in step with the recently updated VirtualPBX Softphone App.
“We work tirelessly to improve the mobility of our customers’ telecommunications,” said Len Cacioppo, VP of Operations at VirtualPBX, “and no matter how much the reliance on mobile devices will increase, there isn’t an end for desktop softphone applications anywhere in sight.”
VirtualPBX leverages its nearly 20 years of history in developing virtual communication products to stay at the forefront of hosted telecom usage trends. Chiefly aware of any changes in that realm, Cacioppo and his team analyze staggering amounts of data to tailor their products in accordance of these trends, and seeing as how the Desktop Softphone is a primary point of access for many business VoIP users, this update will boost productivity for customers where they will notice it most.
“In addition to the standard OS compatibility updates, we’ve made several other key improvements that help to differentiate our Desktop Softphone among the competition,” continued Cacioppo, “specifically, we’ve brought a battery of security updates to the platform, made interface changes that allow users to toggle dial pad viewing, and mirrored all the same call history and use metrics that are already on the popular VirtualPBX Softphone App for iOS and Android that will make for transitions from one to the other seamless for customers who use both.”
VirtualPBX serves companies with mobile or distributed workforces and businesses with high amounts of business travel days, making the mobility of their VoIP products so attractive. In addition to these businesses, however, there are many more employees in the call center space or in the support and auxiliary functions of a business that all primarily rely on the Desktop Softphone. These updates, plus added functionality for future products and platforms to integrate therewith, make the VirtualPBX Desktop Softphone the ultimate hub from which all aspects of the modern businessperson to begin their day.

Award-Winning Mobile Technology at Front of Curve for Modernization
San Jose, CA, October 28, 2015 – VirtualPBX announced today that it has completed an update of its award-winning Softphone App. Fully compatible with the latest iOS and Android platforms, the popular app remains available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

With more companies switching to VirtualPBX for their hosted telecom needs, reliability and usability are more important today than ever before. The VirtualPBX Softphone App is, in many ways, at the forefront of the mobile extension of business communications. By using the app on any smartphone or internet enabled device, employees are able to mirror their office presence anywhere there is a data connection. “With this latest update, we’re preempting all manner of security and data integrity issues and ensuring compatibility with all of the latest hardware that our customers use,” continued Cacioppo, “furthermore, whenever we have the most current compatibilities possible, we ensure that the experience remains smooth and reliable for our customers.”

VirtualPBX Softphone App Wins 2015 Innovation Award
Posted on July 7, 2015 by Rachel Anderson
Softphone App Honored for Exceptional Innovation by INTERNET TELEPHONY & TMC
San Jose, CA July 7, 2015 — VirtualPBX announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named the VirtualPBX Softphone App as a 2015 INTERNET TELEPHONY TMC Labs Innovation Award winner presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
The INTERNET TELEPHONY TMC Labs Innovation Award honors products that display innovation, unique features, and significant contributions toward improving communications technology. The awards are bestowed to those companies demonstrating ground-breaking contributions to the industry.
“Mobile is no longer a third screen and, for many people, it’s the primary access device for their personal internet usage,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX COO.
When used in conjunction with VirtualPBX hosted telephone service, the VirtualPBX Softphone App is essentially a mobile office in the palm of an employee’s hand. Available for free on the iTunes App Store and on Google Play, the softphone app makes any computer, tablet, or smartphone into a feature-rich VoIP extension.
“We’re in the business of helping professionals work the way they want to,” Baker added, “so it only makes sense to mirror the convenience and flexibility of a mobile platform as part of our unified communications solutions for business.”
Able to mirror all of the same features as the robust suite of VirtualPBX’s cloud-based phone systems, the VirtualPBX Softphone App can receive calls dialed to a business number and extension. Furthermore, as an added value for satellite employees, the softphone app can also mask outgoing calls as originating from an office number, therefore protecting the private contact information of the employee using it.
“The INTERNET TELEPHONY TMC Labs Innovation Award represents the best and the most unique products and services that this industry has to offer. VirtualPBX has proven their commitment to quality and the further development of the IP communications industry through its VirtualPBX Softphone App,” stated Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “Congratulations to the entire team at VirtualPBX for earning this great honor. I look forward to seeing more innovative solutions from them as they continue to contribute to the future of IP communications,” Tehrani added.
The 2015 TMC Labs Innovation Award winners will be highlighted in the July/August issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
