Adding Cell Phones & Landlines

Please remember to adjust the user’s Follow Me Calling settings to make use of the new device.

  1. Adding a Cell Phone
  2. Adding a Landline

Adding a Cell Phone

  1. On the Users screen you have choices on what to adjust.
    • Phone numbers: This is for creating/assigning a direct contact number to the particular user. This will allow a user to have a direct number bypassing the virtual receptionist.
    • Devices: This is to add VoIP phones or contact numbers to the “User” enabling them to receive calls to that device.
    • User Features: This is to enable or disable additional features for the particular user, this will include Voice mail, Follow Me etc.
    • Extensions: All users must have an extension number. We recommend using 3 or more digits rather than a single digit. Single digits can be set as menu options under “Virtual Receptionist” then assigned to a group, user or a voice mailbox.
  2. Click on the user’s “Devices” for the User you wish to work with.
  3. Click on New Device and select “Cell Phone”
  4. Enter the Device Name and phone number, leading with a +1.
  5. Click Advanced and choose any options you want to allow.
Allow use of cellphone voicemail: this disables having to press 1 to accept the call. However if your cell phone voicemail picks up the inbound caller will end up in your cell phone’s voicemail box. This is often used when sending calls to an automated answering service.
Keep Original Caller-ID: when checked the Caller ID that shows up on your cell phone is the inbound caller’s phone number. If unchecked, the Caller ID that shows up on your cell phone will be the default Company Caller ID
  6. When you are finished adding devices, click on Save Changes.
