Using SmartID

Many modern phones have an available display that will show the Caller ID information of an incoming call if it is available. Virtual PBX SmartID™ builds upon current calling number identification technology by building in additional options that leverage the phone number information that is available through Caller ID. SmartID™ provides the following features:

  • Caller ID availability on “blocked” Caller ID’s
  • On incoming calls, SmartID™ can display the originating phone number or the Virtual PBX Number dialed.
  • When using the Outbound Dialing function, SmartID™ can display the orginating phone number or the Virtual PBX Number dialed.
  • Global control or extension owner control of SmartID™ delivery
  • When enabled, extensions owners can access any combination of default or unique settings for SmartID™
  • SmartID™ delivers Caller ID independently of Call Preview Detail Caller ID. Even if a display is not available, Caller ID is still available.

Activating SmartID™ For Incoming Calls :: Incoming Extension Caller ID

The Incoming Extension Caller ID determines how Caller ID is displayed to any live extension when they take calls from the Virtual PBX. Live extensions on a Virtual PBX can receive either the originating phone number or the Virtual PBX number that was dialed. The latter is useful if your Virtual PBX has multiple phone numbers that serve different functions.
