Senior SQL Engineer/DBA
Location: We prefer candidates located close to our headquarters in San Jose, California but will seriously consider qualified software engineers that can work remotely from Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland and other western cities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years experience in SQL schema design and stored procedure programming in Microsoft SQL environment including excellent working knowledge of benchmarking, performance tuning and optimization.
Education:
- Bachelor Degree or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science. Professional software engineering experience is an acceptable substitute.
Required experience:
- - SQL schema design
- Developed database systems including hundreds of SQL tables with over a thousand stored procedures divided into many sub-component systems
- - Programming of SQL stored procedures and triggers
- - SQL Query optimization
- - Extensive use of various SQL tools for benchmarking and performance tuning
- - Proficiency in development, database administration, maintenance, and organization
- - Experience in large-scale, successful web development or enterprise software
Preferred but not required experience
- - Replication
- - Shell scripting and utilities
- - XML and XSLT
- - Implementation of security roles
Knowledge:
- - Differences between SQL 2000 and SQL 2005
- - Network sockets
